My older son is a really picky eater, which is one of the reasons we asked for a Ninja blender one Christmas. We figured it would be the easiest way to get a greater variety of food in him, and it wouldn’t hurt us either!

We tried a lot of shakes when we first got it, and through that trial and error we found a shake that both my boys like (tolerate) so they now split it at dinner every night. I don’t recall the name of the recipe we started with, so I’ll just call it “This Shake Doesn’t Suck, mom” because that’s pretty much what it came down to – something they would both drink without complaining! To me it tastes like peanut butter and banana – two things they both like.

Ingredients:

8 oz. milk (we use almond milk)

1 banana

1 kale leaf

a big blob of peanut butter (probably 2-3 Tbsp)

frozen blueberries (1/3 – 1/2 cup)

fax seed (around 1 Tbsp)

What do the picky eaters in your house have for shakes? I actually make this for my husband every morning as well, as he’s pretty picky too! And in case you’re wondering, we purchased a Nutri Ninja Ninja Blender Duo with Auto-iQ (Amazon) and it’s still going strong after a year of being used at least twice a day.
