Generally speaking, I think a home-cooked meal is a healthier meal, and it’s certainly a lot less expensive than eating out! But sometimes you just need a break, and you don’t want to end up with bored, restless kids at your table. Kids like to move around! Here are some area restaurants that include places where your kids can play:
The Dream Cafe
5100 Belt Line Rd, Addison
The Dream Cafe has 2 locations. I went to the Dallas one on the recommendation of a friend and it was great. They have a little playground outside. I just checked Yelp and saw a picture of a playground at their Addison location too!
3065 N. Josey Ln, Carrollton
Our favorite is Nico’s in Carrollton. They have a large out door play area right by the tables.
Joe’s Crab Shack
3320 Central Expressway, Plano
- Joe’s Crab Shack on Central Expwy. They have a sand playground (under supervised my management FYI) the employees dance and it’s very entertaining for everyone. Loud though if little ones are sensitive to noise. They have a shaded patio for dining outside with fans and their kid menu is super!
- My 10 yr old still loves going!!
- String Beans in Richardson. NE corner of Campbell and Coit. They have a playroom with a tv and toys the kids can play in while waiting for dinner to be served, or after they are finished with dinner and the adults still want to talk.
- We love to go here! The playroom have us the most peaceful dining out experience in 2 years, lol
The Magic Time Machine
5003 Beltline Road, Addison
Servers dressed in period costumes interact with patrons in a funky dining room.
The Lot Dallas
7530 E Grand Ave, Dallas
children’s garden and play area, corn hole
Huge playground… Sandbox and a basketball type area … Just gotta see it, hard to describe
14999 Preston Rd, North Dallas map
1551 East Renner Rd, Richardson map
The outdoor patio is filled with open seating for diners to enjoy the menu offerings as the weather cools down. A dedicated kids play area provides fun for the whole family.
