Looking for some family entertainment? A Frisco Rough Riders game is great fun for the whole family. We went to a Sunday game and had a great time.
Sundays are typically “Sunday Funday” promotions. Kids can play catch on the field if you go early. We got there at 3pm for a 4pm game and were able to enjoy the field with all the other families before the players took the field.
During the game there is plenty of entertainment. There is music, junior cheerleaders and silly contests.
If your kids get a bit stir crazy you can take them to the playground, which is off left field. There is one area for kids ages 5-10 and another for those aged 2-5. You can’t see the field very well from there, but there is a bar next to the playground that has several large TVs.
You can also reserve a playground for a birthday party. There was one happening when we were there. The woman told me the party starts when the gates open at 3pm and ends when the game starts at 4pm. It looked like a lot of fun! There are also other decks and areas you can reserve for a group. They are also opening a Lazy River (off right field) this summer which can be reserved for groups.
You can buy tickets in advance or at the gate. The ballpark isn’t huge, so all of the seats have a great view of the field. Parking is $10 (website says you can purchase garage parking for $5 in advance) and there are lots of food and beverage options. You can’t bring in outside food and beverage but they do allow bottled water (with the label removed), read the policies here.
Watch their website for fireworks nights and other special events.
