A request to rezone the 329 acre Haggard Farms property at the corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Spring Creek Parkway in West Plano was denied this September after the group Stop Haggard Farms organized protests.  The group was concerned about the proposed density of the project, changing the zoning from the current 341 housing units plus retail and low-rise office space to 4,891  multi-family units (the largest concentration within Plano) plus high-rise office buildings.

While Plano will need additional housing, it’s important to add developments in a smart way so they take into account the need for additional schools and other city resources, and provide the types of housing that individuals and families moving to Plano desire.  If this rezoning concerns you visit the Stop Haggard Farms website and email [email protected] with a request to be added to their mailing list (put “Please add me to the email list” as the subject of your email).
